Candle Light II

 

Everyone loved her; she was the people’s princess. She had fame and beauty; she lacked nothing that money could buy. Everywhere she went, world renowned camera men chased after her. The newspapers and magazines made so much money out of her. No doubt, she was beautiful inside out. She was not short of admirers. Her heart of compassion, love and concern for the less-privileged won her admiration all over the world.

 

Although her marriage broke down and for a brief moment everything appeared to fall apart around her, she found love again; the love of her life(?). It was like a fairytale. She looked happy and had everything to live for. All of a sudden, like a ‘candle in the wind’, she disappeared – never to be seen again. She left for the world beyond our mortal eyes, and like everyone of us, to stand before her Maker to give account of her short stay on the earth. Dear reader, our time here on earth is VERY SHORT – like a candle in the wind. Everyone one of us will die someday like a candle blown out by the wind and we shall have to stand before God our Maker to give account of our time here on earth. When we die, we either go to HELL or HEAVEN. Those who live for God, who accept Jesus into their lives as their personal Lord and Saviour whilst on earth will go to heaven and those who do not will end up in hell, the place of eternal judgement. It is true that some do not believe in God, or in heaven or hell; that does not change anything. It is only when we die and leave this world that the reality will be made clear. But then for some of us it might be too late. I would like to assure you that you have nothing to lose by believing in the Lord Jesus and making Him the Lord of your life. Everyday many of us take chances, including gambling. Well, life is a gamble, some win and some lose. What happens if you die today and then realise that heaven and hell are real after all and that God actually does exist? In James 4: 14 the Bible, (God’s word) says “what is your life? It is a vapour that appears for a little while and vanishes away.”

Death is no respecter of persons. Like a candle in the wind, or a vapour, our lives can disappear at any time. Today you have the opportunity to make an important decision – to invite Jesus into your life, knowing it will be the best decision you have ever made.

And come to think of it; God has made it so easy for us to be reconciled to Him – His Salvation is FREE and it is for everyone. All you have to do is take the following steps, as simple as A, B, C, D.   

 A, B, C, D:

 

A – Admit you are a sinner. That is, agree your life has been a mess and that you need God to sort it out ; for the Bible (God’s word) says we have all sinned and fallen below God’s expectations and that the consequence of sin is DEATH, eternal separation from God. (Romans 3:10, 23; 6:23). So, whether any one believes it or not, the Bible says all men are sinners.

 

B – Believe that Jesus, God’s own Son paid the price to save you from your sins. God made a Way for the salvation of every one through the death of Christ on the Cross; and there is no other way (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1-12)

 

C – Confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you. That is, tell God you’re sorry for all the bad things you’ve ever done. The Bible says, ‘if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves …’ but if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness’ (1 John 1: 8-9; Isaiah 43:25)

 

 

D – Decide to make Him Lord (put Him in charge) of your life. That is, let Him take over your life from this minute.  Give up your evil ways and accept the new life He is offering you. The Bible says “if anyone is in Christ, s(he) is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:14-17).

“Dear Lord Jesus, I do realise that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I thank you for taking the punishment for my sins. I’m sorry for every sin I’ve committed and ask you to forgive me. Wash me with your precious blood, and make me clean within. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. I gladly receive you as my Lord and Saviour”. Amen.
